It was Saturday the 14th and it was Raining. We arrived in Hattiesburg around 10 am and it was still Raining. We registered at the hotel and It was still Raining. I met some wonderful people there at Hattiesburg. Every function I go to like this, I meet more new people! It's great! Hattiesburg is a beautiful town with a lot of trees and fall color everywhere. Even though It Rained! The killing fields were located in a park with a lake. It was a very beautiful lake when you could see the other side. It was all foggy and misty and kind of spooky. Across the lake was where the BBQ was. There were a few people on this side of the lake and a few on the other side. And It Rained. It seemed that no-one was tuning up. It could have been that Rain. It could have been that Sheriff that was hanging around. There was not one dry person there that day. We waited and waited for the rain to let up but it was relentless. Then through the fog there was Sledgehammers Suburban.

All by itself with a chain attached to the front bumper. Rain or Shine, With a transmission or without, Sledgehammer was going to key down! He got towed to the line and waited for the competition to begin. So AC one alternator was the first class to compete. Then they pulled Sledgehammer back off the line and started with the rest of the classes. That is dedication.

Sledgehammer, if they did not give you an award for the perseverance you showed, then I will! I don't know how you got home, but I am sure you made it just fine.

The Gooserider team cleaned house in this competition. They were the ones to beat. Congratulations to Gooserider and his team!
